About It All Adds Up to Cleaner Air

Community Partners

Community Partners were the air quality and transportation organizations across the country that volunteered to use the Federal Highway Administration's It All Adds Up to Cleaner Air marketing materials to spread the word in their communities that taking a few simple steps really can add up to cleaner air and less traffic congestion.

Over the years, more than 100 Community Partners from communities big and small joined the effort. They've consistently turned to It All Adds Up for a wide variety of free commercial-quality marketing materials to help build effective air quality programs. Community Partners received technical support for material customization, advice, and guidance from the It All Adds Up team, along with quarterly e-mail newsletters offering new ideas and tips for delivering air quality education to the public. Community Partners' efforts, special projects, and events were also consistently acknowledged and applauded in success story profiles featured on the It All Adds Up Web site and in e-mail newsletters and announcements. And many regularly visited the It All Adds Up Exchange, the message board where air quality and transportation professionals shared their successes, sought new ideas, and offered support to each other.

To help reach their air quality goals, Community Partners were also steadfast in their efforts to build strong partnerships with local stakeholders and others who could share the task of disseminating the It All Adds Up messages and materials. They enlisted the help of area employers, government agencies, local businesses, and media partners and invited all to become a part of this important air quality "movement."

Together, Community Partners, their coalitions, and It All Adds Up have helped raise awareness across the country of the connections among transportation choices, air quality, and traffic congestion—with the ultimate goal of improving quality of life for millions of people.
