What We Do
The It All Adds Up team provides state and local agencies with national themes and materials that can be easily tailored to meet local needs. The materials are based on the initiative's four core messages:
- Trip chaining, or combining errands into a single car trip
- Keeping cars regularly maintained
- Refueling in the evening
- Choosing alternate modes of transportation, such as carpooling, mass transit, biking, or walking
Participating communities receive guidance and technical assistance for developing successful outreach campaigns, including free, high-quality promotional tools and evaluation resources to measure the effectiveness of the initiative. Communities also enjoy the benefits of a nationwide network of information and idea exchange through online forums, conferences, and teleconferences.
Any organization that registers as a Community Partner and actively participates in the initiative by using the It All Adds Up materials and/or messages receives formal recognition from the federal government. This Web site provides additional forums for promoting Community Partners' activities -- please visit the "It All Adds Up" Exchange and Community Partners' success stories sections to learn more about initiative-related activities nationwide.
