Seasonal Tips

By now, you probably know all about our new Seasonal Theme Program (if you don't, read the feature story). But you're probably wondering just what the winter messages are and how you can use them.

The winter theme is "commuting" and the four messages for this season are all designed to promote commuting behaviors that save time and money while addressing air quality and traffic congestion problems. The winter messages are:

  • carpool, share a ride or take mass transit;
  • telecommute;
  • trip chain more often; and
  • spread the word.

Do these messages sound familiar? Well, they should, they're four of the 10 Simple Steps that we developed at the start of the It All Adds Up To Cleaner Air initiative seven years ago. Now, we're packaging them together in the winter program and giving you fun new ways to promote them. Visit the new Seasonal Theme Program page to review three new versions of the print ads, a new radio script, a new press release template to announce your participation in the winter program and two new materials: an online quiz on commuting for use on your Web site and an events/program list with ideas for new ways to promote It All Adds Up To Cleaner Air in your community this winter.

We look forward to hearing from you about how you've adapted these materials for use locally. Send us a note to share your successes with us!
